Steamboat Scholars' recent awards and achievements:

James Kuczmarski ‘07
- First Scholar to receive a Fulbright grant; he will spend a year in India studying ways to reduce black carbon emissions beginning in August 2010.

Seth Packrone ‘09
- Selected as one of four Harvard-Cambridge Scholars for the 2010/2011 academic year.

Natasha Alford ‘07
- Selected for a two-year commitment to Teach for America in Washington, D.C. beginning August 2010.

Joyce Lee ‘09
- Selected to give the commencement address at the 152nd Northwestern University Commencement Exercises in June 2010.
- Currently working for the Chicago bureau of Xinhua news, China's official news agency, in Chicago.

Dean Arnaoutakis ‘04
- Matched for a general surgery residency at John Hopkins after completing a dual MD/MBA degree from Cornell Weill Medical College and the Johnson School in June 2010.

Kiara Walker ‘09
- Chosen to give the commencement address for the 2010 graduating class at Parsons the New School for Design in May 2010.

Swarup Swaminathan ‘08
- First Scholar to have published research completed with his Senior Mentor, Dr. David Altchek, during his Steamboat Summer. Click here to read the article.

Emma Steinkraus ‘09
- Awarded the one year Hubbard Hutchinson Painting Fellowship after graduating from Williams in May 2010.
