Andrew C. Walter, Co-Founder and Board Co-Chair 

Andrew C. Walter is the Co-Founder and Co-President of Blue Orchid Capital, LLC, which was created in 2003. Prior to Blue Orchid Capital, Andy was the Global Head of Product Management for Goldman Sachs' Hedge Fund Strategies and a member of the Group’s Investment Committee. The Product Management Group was responsible for structuring and distributing the Firm's hedge fund fund-of-funds products to qualified family groups and institutions around the globe. 

Previously, Andy worked on building the alternative investments platform for gs.com / Goldman Sachs Wealth Management, Goldman Sachs' e-based wealth management business. Prior to that, he was involved in building the high-net-worth businesses in Goldman Sachs Asset Management both domestically and internationally.

Andy received his A.B. in Government from Harvard University. He serves on the Board of Eugene Lang College at New School University.

Peer T. Pedersen Jr., Co-Founder and Board Co-Chair 

Peer T. Pedersen is the Co-Founder and Co-President of Blue Orchid Capital, LLC, which was created in 2003. Peer is a former Managing Director and Co-Head of Structured Finance in Credit Suisse First Boston’s Financial Institutions Group, based in New York. He joined the firm from Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, which CSFB acquired in November 2000, where he had been Co-Head of the Mortgage and Asset Finance Group. He spent five years working for both firms. 

Peer joined DLJ in 1997 from NatWest Markets (now Royal Bank of Scotland) where he was Head of Fixed Income, and Co-Head of North American Capital Markets. He was a member of the firm’s Global Capital Markets Committee. Prior to joining NatWest Markets in 1993, Peer was the founder and CEO of PW Group, Inc., a joint venture with Cargill, Inc., focused on asset-backed and distressed debt principal investing.

Peer received his M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his B.A. from Dartmouth College. He is on the Board of Trustees and the Executive and Investment Committees of The Brunswick School, a member of The Hotchkiss School Investment Committee, and is on the Board of the non-profit CitySquash. He is a former member of the Board of The Hotchkiss School and St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Emily Ryan, Program Director

Emily Ryan was a member of the first class of Steamboat Scholars in 2004 and was lucky enough to work at the New York Football Giants during that summer. Upon graduation from Boston College, she continued with the Giants full-time. Her first two years as a full-time employee were spent in Player Development with former Giant, Charles Way, where Emily helped current players prepare for life after football through continuing education and financial management programs. In June of 2007, Emily transitioned into the Marketing department where she focused on client services and special events. After four years at a Super Bowl winning franchise, Emily was thrilled to come full circle as Program Director at Steamboat Foundation.

Emily graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Communications and minor in Faith, Peace and Justice. She lives in New York City. 

Dr. Thomas Inck, Leadership Consultant 

Dr. Tom Inck leads Partners Inck, a boutique consulting firm specializing in leadership and organizational development. A psychologist by training, Tom helps develop ambitious individuals into self-aware leaders and well-intentioned groups into high-performing teams.

Over the past decade, Tom has lead organizational and leadership development projects for the senior leadership of such corporate clients as ACNielsen, ADP, Aetna, Audax Group, Black and Decker, Bloomberg, Double Click, Goldman Sachs, HBO, JPMorgan Chase, Omnicom, Select Equity Group, Soros Private Funds Management, United Health Group, and Xerox, as well as with numerous other privately held partnerships and non-profit organizations. 

Tom received his B.A. from The University of Chicago and his Ph.D. in psychology from Adelphi University. He has held academic appointments at the New School for Social Research and Albert Einstein School of Medicine and has lectured at Harvard University. He maintains a psychotherapy practice in New York City.
