Growing up and working as an assistant dance instructor, Shannon's passion for teaching and helping others flourished. At Elon University, Shannon worked with a community outreach program teaching children that a strong work ethic, preparation and sense of priorities are all encompassed in the definition of a Division 1 student athlete. Shannon set a goal of transferring to Boston College, achieved her goal, and is now concentrating in marketing in the Carroll School of Management.
Shannon's interest in marketing developed from the film "What Women Want," as she became intrigued by the idea of the psychology behind decision making. At Boston College, she is active in the Marketing Academy, Undergraduate Government of Boston College Event Management Team, Women in Business, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and is a proud sister in the Big/Little sister program. Shannon also held a communications and marketing internship for one year at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center where she enjoyed planning events and working side by side with the Community Relations department. Shannon has desired to join the Steamboat Foundation since her sophomore year of college.
At the Giants, Shannon interned under Ethan Medley in the Client Services department, but provided a helping hand to many other departments as well. In Client Services, Shannon attended meetings and special events for sponsors such as Verizon Wireless, Waste Management and the Hospital for Special Surgery. Shannon assisted the Public Relations team as an administrator of the New York Giants Facebook page and hosted fans on a television shoot at “Good Day New York.” She worked closely with Community Relations, participating in conference calls with the NFL and USA Football, while also assisting the Production department and Team Special Events as well. Shannon is most proud to have taken on the primary role in revamping the Junior Giants Kids Club, researching, and taking the beginning steps to what will prove to be a great asset for the Giants in the coming seasons. As the summer came to an end, Shannon enjoyed escorting and hosting VIP guests and clients at the 2011 Training Camp. Shannon is grateful to have experienced firsthand working for the Big Blue, an organization that truly lives up to its prestigious reputation.
Shannon is selling auto and life insurance for Liberty Mutual in Boston, MA.
