Richard was born in Kenya but for the early part of his childhood lived in France and Israel where his father was stationed to work. He moved back to Kenya when he was 8 and has lived there ever since. Richard attended a British system boarding high school in Kenya called Greensteds International School under a music and academia scholarship. There he built a strong community with his teachers and made lasting friendships that continue to endure to this day. He excelled in music, sports and academics and held the distinguished honor of Head Prefect in his final year of high school. Richard came to the United States after receiving an offer to study at Dartmouth College where he is currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the Thayer School of Engineering. Outside of his academics, Richard is actively involved on campus. He is the Co-President of the International Students Association at Dartmouth and is an active member of his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. Richard is also an alumnus of the Tuck Business Bridge Program which he took part during the 2011 summer. He believes that it was this experience in particular that inspired an interest for finance in him. In his spare time Richard plays the piano and the violin, takes part in sports, writes orchestral music and loves to travel and meet new people. He is passionate about International development and hopes to one day work to improve the education system in Kenya.
