Posted July 14, 2009
After the day at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, the Scholars gathered at the Racquet & Tennis Club in New York for a Foundation Dinner with author and essayist, Joshua Wolf Shenk. Shenk, known for his acclaimed book Lincoln's Melancholy, recently published a piece in The Atlantic on a longitudinal happiness study that started in the 1930s and chronicled the lives of selected male Harvard students.
The Scholars asked questions about Shenk's unique experience researching and writing this article - What Makes Us Happy? - and contemplated happiness in their own lives.
